WHY DESTROY when you can REUSE
Data overwriting is the data destruction method of choice for hard drives slated to be resold or reused. But a missed or incomplete hard drive wipe can expose an organization to a potential data secureity breach, which could prove to be extremely costly to an organization. JQ Recycling guarantees 100% digital data destruction for all hard drives that will be reused or resold.
The security goal of the data erasure process is to replace sensitive data with nonsensitive, random data. JQ Recycling follows procedures that are in strict compliance with U.S. National Institue of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication 800-88 Guidelines and completely overwrites your data. This process may include overwriting not only the logical storage location of a file or files, for example, the file allocation table, but all addressable locations. Based on the sensitivity of the information contained on the hard drive, it is overwritten a minimum of three times.
JQ Recycling implements an important final quality control step that goes beyond NIST guidelines. Prior to resale, hard drives are connected to our verification station and tested to confirm complete data removal. Any had drives containing residual data are destroyed (shredded). This final validation step is essential to protecting your business from the possibility of data breach, but often overlooked by other reuse and recycling companies.
JQ Recycling provides a Certificate of Destruction to our customers, which can include a complete list of serial numbers, manufacturers and model numbers for compliance and audit purposes. Our Certificate of Destruction is nationally recognized and our media shredding process meets requirements as set forth by all local, state and federal guidelings.
